Procurement Department

The Procurement Department at LMHRA is the purchasing arm of the authority. The Department procures all goods, services and works designed to meet operational needs of the authority while providing the highest possible value. Procurement Department plays a critical role in helping the Authority achieve its goals. The Department ensures that the authority operates with integrity with the aim of attaining value for money and fit for purpose in all procurement processes and at all levels of the procurement chain.

The Procurement department efficiently carries out duties & responsibilities in sole-sourcing, ordering/purchasing, ensuring the best prices as per the specifications, delivery timelines and payments terms. The department overseeing the preparing of all tender documents – Request for Proposals, Expression of Interest, Request for quotations, purchase orders etc.

The Head of the Procurement Department at LMHRA is Mrs. Hawa Tengbeh-Tambah, an innovative and resourceful professional with a track record of delivering superior results by implementing strategic procurement, sourcing, contracting, logistics, business development and relationship management programs that optimize the value for money and fit for purpose procurement approach.

Mrs. Tambah is a result oriented young professional with Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with emphasis in Public Administration from the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) in Liberia. Currently, she is a candidate for Masters in Public Sector Management (MPA) at the Cuttington University Graduate School. She has worked with reputable institutions in and out of Liberia: Liberia Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Authority; Home Instead Senior Care as administrator responsible for corporate purchasing (Springfield, Illinois, USA); After School Matters, as Teacher Assistant, responsible for training and coordination of activities (Chicago, Illinois, USA), among others.
